The drag-and-drop builders like Wix and Squarespace are appealing because they seem easy and affordable upfront. But they have significant limitations. Your content and design are locked into their proprietary systems – if you ever want to move, you lose everything. They have limited SEO capabilities compared to a properly configured WordPress site. And the monthly subscription costs, over time, often exceed the cost of a well-built WordPress site. WordPress, by contrast, gives you complete ownership and total flexibility.

WordPress, particularly when combined with a plugin like AIOSEO, gives you comprehensive control over every aspect of on-page SEO: title tags, meta descriptions, schema markup, XML sitemaps, canonical URLs, and more. Most drag-and-drop builders offer a fraction of this functionality.
Performance
A properly optimised WordPress site – good hosting, a caching plugin, optimised images, clean code – loads very fast. My client sites regularly score close to 100 on Google PageSpeed tests. This isn’t possible on most closed-platform builders.
